Back to Blogger
Hi everyone. I know this is going to be really annoying, but this was only a trial remember. I’ve figured out a couple more things with blogger and I’ve decided to go back to my old blogger page.
WordPress is good, but blogger has more freedom to change things around (that may not be true but I don’t know enough about HTML to do it myself) and there’s more widgets that seem to be available on blogger. And it’s a pain jumping back and forth between NZSU and Made By Me on different accounts.
So thank you all for being so patient with me, I’ll have my old blog back up and running today. With hopefully a cool new layout, a couple more cards and maybe even some blog candy.

Why???
I have to share this cause it’s really bugging me.
Why is it that when my girls go to bed I’m in and out of their rooms at least half a dozen times before they finally give in and go to sleep.
But Grandad goes in once, growls ‘go to sleep!’ in his big growly grandad voice and we don’t hear a peep out of them for the rest of the night??

No TV… so My Mum will have to do..
So our TV has packed it in – I’m hoping not for good. The Repair guy is coming over tomorrow to take it to the workshop to hopefully fix it. It’s amazing what you can do when you can’t blob in front of a TV half the day. OK I admit I do have the TV going most of the day, but it usually just on in the background, but it’s pretty easy to get distracted for 1/2hr by Dr Phil or Oprah. Instead I brought the PC out to the dining area and had iTunes going.
So before I head off to bed for an early night, and since I haven’t stamped in the last couple of days I’ve got a Mum story for you.
The day I moved back to New Plymouth from Hamilton, I was 34 weeks pregnant and had just finished my final 8 hour shift at Waikato Hospital and had a 3 hour drive home to my parents. I’d specifically requested that Mum cook roast chicken for dinner. It’s not a difficult meal, and it’s one of my favourites and since it was my first night back I thought she’d be happy to.
Mum had other ideas, I could smell it as soon as I walked through their front door. Lambs Fry (liver) and bacon. It has to be my most detested meal ever. Mum thought since I didn’t get back to NP till 7pm Lambs Fry would be better reheated than Roast Chicken! I don’t think anything tastes better than roast chicken, reheated or not. Now Mum wonders why I always ask what’s for dinner before accepting her invitations.
BTW – dinner didn’t go to waste, our cat thoroughly enjoyed it.

From Stamp Class
So after being up ’til midnight last night, Bella had me up the rest of the night, so now of course I feel like crap. So I stayed home this morning, I’ve drunk to much coffee and I’ve got the heat pump to high, it’s almost lunch time and I’m still in my PJ’s. Oh well, we’re allowed days like today….
This is one of the cards we made at stamp class. We also made the card from this previous post and we made origami boxes. It was heaps of fun, we laughed heaps and ate lots of m&m’s.
The next Stamp Class will be Wednesday 27th August – check out the August Classes in the sidebar for times and details.
Stamps – Priceless
Cardstock – Basic Black, Pink Passion
Ink – Black Stazon, Pink Passion
Accessories – 1 3/8″ Square Punch, Acetate
And we’re losing one of the girls I work with, Bron. She’s moving on to nursing in the community. I’m sure she’s looking forward to getting off night shift.
So I was asked to make a card for her, she love animals and she loves handbags and since my stamp collection is lacking in animal stamps I went with the handbags. I don’t have handbag stamps either but used the Tab Punch to create them.
Stamps – All Year Cheer I (retired)
Ink – Basic Black
Cardstock – Rose Red, Close to Cocoa, Rose Red
DSP – Rose Red Prints
Accessories – Tab Punch, Silver Brads, Silver Cord, Dimensionals, Purely Pomegranate Double Stitched Ribbon

A Rak from Tracy
I was going to post this earlier but ran out of time before work, then just didn’t get a chance at work – patients can be quite impatient at times!! lol
Anyway isn’t this card stunning!! I received it today in the post from Tracy, a very talented demo in Hawera. It was a lovely surprise and best of all she’s used one of my favourite stamp sets AND it’s got glitter!
This next card I made before my Stamp Class the other night. We had a great time, I haven’t laughed that much in a long time. I’ll show you what we made in the next day or so. But til then here’s this one. It was CASEd from a card originally designed by Amber Hight one of the SBS10 sistahs. And guess which stamp set I used!!
Stamps – Bodacious Bouquet (of course!)
Ink – Old Olive, Really Rust
Cardstock – Soft Sky, Old Olive, Whisper White
DSP – Fall Flowers
Accessories – White Grosgrain (dyed Really Rust), 13/8 Circle Punch, Slit Punch, Dimensionals
Anyway that’s all for now, it’s gone midnight and the girls will be up early in the morning. I can’t wait til Bella learns to sleep in!!
Hope you all have a good night sleep. Nite..

So Ready for Bed
After a day where I had nothing booked, no where I needed to be, I’m exhausted. I managed to get heaps done around the house, including all my washing, before it rained, again. And much to my Dad’s surprise I got the lawns mowed – his are immaculate and mine are pretty much more weed than grass. And what’s more the girls are in bed and the house is STILL tidy. Lets see how long it lasts.
So while I was out in the garden I thought it was a little strange to see a few of these flowers blooming. Now I’m not much of a gardener (I’m getting there) but I’m pretty sure daffodils aren’t supposed to flower for another couple of months.
And this one was blooming right in the middle of my vege garden between the garlic and the potatoes.
Hope these remind you that Springs not that far away.
Night Everyone.

Yay! No work tomorrow!
I’ve enjoyed my fourth day off work today and yay still another three days off. Things have been so busy at work lately so it’s nice to be able to spend some time at home with the girls.
It also means I’ve been able to get a few more cards done. Here are a couple of what I made this evening.
The first was another really simple one – I like simple… It uses the very cool kraft cardstock. I’ve used Stem Silhouettes which I love but isn’t available anymore – if you see a stampset you love in a mini catalogue GET IT!! Once the catalogue is finished there’s always the chance you won’t ever see that set again.
Stamps – Stem Silhouettes
Ink – Basic Black, Cameo Coral
Cardstock – Kraft, Whisper White, Cameo Coral
Accessories – SAMJ, Grosgrain Ribbon (coloured with ink),
This next card is one I cased from Splitcoast. It was designed by Amy Rysavy. See I do remember designers sometimes. I used markers for the flowers.
Stamps – Petal Prints, Warmest Regards (Retired Hostess)
Ink – Basic Black, Always Artichoke, So Saffron & Bashful Blue Markers
Cardstock – Bashful Blue, Always Artichoke, Confetti Cream
DSP – Le Jardin
Accessories – Grosgrain
I think I’ll send the first one out as a RAK for the current challenge on NZSU. Check it out and brighten someones day.
